The spec they done back then with full XT and Reynolds 531 for the price they charged not many companies could beat it. A good clean and strip down of the parts and treat any areas of rust and this will be a beauty.
My mate still has the first one they brought out with the complete 6 speed Deore XT groupset and the U-brake under the chainstays,i've tried everything to convince him to sell it so i can restore it.

What did they spec for the rims,im guessing just some cheapo unbranded stuff?
Think they had Araya rims,might even of been RM20's
Changed my mind,had a look at the RM20's on my explosif and the ones on this carrera look different. But i've a set of RX7's which look a lot like the ones on the carrera.

No, those rims are not any in the brochure.
