Well some one got it, I think you could use caustic to eat the aluminium away but would it damage the ti?

You can cut it out, or even crimp/crush it and hope it free's it all way down, if that fails you can cut the rest with hacksaw blade. First try it in a vice, might just need a bit of force.

It was Ti on Ti and galled I should imagine. Blowtorch and a vice will have it out with no damage I would have thought

I think you will find the most of them have a aluminium shim inside the seat tube, reduces the tube to 27.2mm from 29.8mm (I have a 1990 one and it's a 29.8 seat post.

This is a later one as told by the serial number
