interesting looking no name mountain bike - surrey

just saw this on ebay at 99p and no bids. l

its got an STX groupset, steel frame, ritchey cowled dropouts, top tube cable routing and the seat stays join the seat tube above the top tube.

I don't know what it is , but doesn't look too cheap.

anyone got any ideas?

Looking at the seatstays, rear dropouts, forward seat post slot and brake bridge etc (and paint colour) its a dead ringer for my Tange prestige framed Merlin (the ormskirk Merlin!). If it is, they are really nice on fast open singletrack/fire breaks. Ride a bit like a 'whippy' roadbike - in a good way... ...mines now on 1.25 Tioga city slickers and a 42/52 road crank and is great around town.
