Came across this bike parts website today and lo and behold they have an early Attitude in excellent condition built to catalog spec with a lot of NOS parts. And it seems priced very aggressively - $1800 if you can pick it up in Colorado, $2,200!otherwise.

absolutely right it's a 20" by Klein measuring standards. Wish I'd noticed this a couple of weeks ago - I just drove cross country from SF, CA to Boston and passed through Colorado and $1,800 is a very good pick up price.
