Yep, you can still spot the rear canti hanger on the frame if you squint…

EDIT: Wheels are non original as well, stem and forks are correct though, can't make out much else

On the subject of the wheels, why do half the spokes cross and other half parallel on each wheel? Is that normal?

I dunno, £50 sounds ok and bike shops (and other places such as halfords ;-) ) don't 'get' that old stuff doesn't necessarily need replacing. The number if times I've been told to replace a top end old component with a cheap new one only to go home and figure out how to fix it myself...
