I wouldn't pay half that asking price for it, but then it depends if you have your heart set on that particular model/year/colour etc.
Bikes are only worth what someones willing to pay I guess

FYI it sold at 250, considering it was 645 bitd, and of a quality that's not easy to find after the Far East crash of 97. It was immaculate, get to halfords and see what 250 gets you! I think it was a steel. Saracens were the dogs back then and protrax was the top sports bike, before the comp range, light and sturdy last a lifetime, powder coated, bullet proof. I love Saracens their bloody great (pre 97).

So great that you never rode it but sold it instead. As to the top sports bike, perhaps some more reading of the age may give you a different view. Sold a week ago but no feedback by seller or buyer.

It's all academic now as you say it's sold. If you got £250 for it and it doesn't suddenly appear on ebay again as the buyer (your sister/mate/other half etc) pulled out then yes, at £250 you did well to get that for a £100=£125 bike. Well done.

Very intersting read........I'm the buyer and was the seller and bought it back. In a moment of madness I sold this bike a couple of months ago and regretted it, so bought it back.

I'm in to this bike for £65 + a little TLC.......What's it true worth? who knows? but for me if it's the make and model you were looking for, in the condition it's in, it's worth is what it's worth to me..

Just purchased this for £25 (inc front wheel).....is it worth it? for the adventure i've got planned for this then it's a bargin compared to the modern Giants, Cubes, Boardmans etc that'll be there.
