XTR M970 parts - cranks x3, mechs, disc brakes and cassette

Part of the thinning of parts that I have no build plans for, here are some nice XTR M970 trinkets for your perusal. In my view, the best XTR groupset, certainly one of nicest looking/functioning anyway.

A lot of 'spares', happy to discount multiple purchases. Prices include UK postage. Here we go:

SOLD: M970 chainset 1 - £90
Not much wrong with this one. Great rings, great splines, all parts present and correct. Cosmetic wear/rub as pictured to the arms.




M970 chainset 2 - £80
Again, pretty good all round. The only thing to note is that a couple of splines have a bit of damage at the very start where they have been fitted. Once fitted properly, there is no play, you just need to be careful when fitting that you take care and ensure the splines are lined up properly before tightening up. Rings all good too, cosmetic damage as pictured.



I'll chuck in a brand new in box Shimano HTII botom bracket, can't remember which model off the top of my head, but it is silver in colour. Will update once I have fished it out.

M970 chainset 3 - £40
Splines on the NDS are damaged so probably best for spares really (though they don't wriggle around much once tightened up). Inner and middle ring are sound, outer has some wear, see pics and judge for yourself how much - I'm sure there is life left yet. Bolts included, aside from the plastic washer that sits inside the NDS crank arm, around the bolt (just stops much getting in, so not critical). Pics don't show any rear chainring bolts - I can't seem to find these, but I'm sure I can throw some in if you need them.

SOLD: XTR disc brakes - £60
Bought off here for £75 + post if memory serves. Rear calliper has a leak, wish I'd noticed this before I bought a brand new XTR hose (long), fitted it and filled with fluid. The rest of the brakes are all fine, I'll let the pics to the talking re cosmetic condition. I can include the old hose too if I still have it. Discounted the price I paid due to the leaky piston.

I forgot that I also bought some new pads for both callipers so will include these along with the original ones that came with them that still had plenty of life, plus I have found the original hose that I replaced, so this goes with the brakes too. Also found some 160mm rotors that I will throw in as well.

M972 shadow rear mech - £45
Carbon loveliness, my favourite mech. Only selling as I have a spare one that I am keeping. Comes with red KCNC jockeys. Good condition all round, only thing to note is that the rear carbon plate had a chip (not snapped or anything like that, more like a shaving/layer of carbon), which I have touched up with clear lacquer to protect from the elements (see picture). The alloy chain stop that was bonded to the mech has at some point fallen off. Doesn't effect anything to the best of my knowledge, apart from making the mech lighter .

M970 front mech - £20
Good cosmetic and working condition. Clamp is for the larger 34.9 but can be shimmed as needed.




SOLD: M970 cassette - £30
Good condition with plenty of life left imho - check pics. 11-34 ratio. Crazily light.
