** SEE UPDATE POST WITH NEW PICS FURTHER DOWN **

i'm sure some of you have seen this before....
bought on here almost three years ago now, as a cracked frame, on which the silver anodised finish had seen better days.
i had the frame welded, and two gussets welded on either side, so it will never crack again.
it was then media blasted and painted to a very high standard locally.
it's a silver/white with a lilac flip and a silver metalflake, it's stunning.
shortly afterwards it fell and chipped the paint

i paid £180 for it
the repair work and blasting was £50
the paint was £200
head badge was £25 plus post

it's up for sale for £220 posted

you can hopefully get an idea of the paint colour and finish from the pics
it's fitted with rainbow titanium bottle bolts
i know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it's still a rare(ish) frame with its carbon seat tube and externally milled frame tubes, would make a nice bike for someone!

now comes complete with a beautiful pewter Pace head tube badge too

sizes:
seat tube C to C - 15.5 inches
seat tube C to Top - 17 inches
tope tube C to C - 22 inches
head tube 4.25 inches

2016

i have since tried to touch up the paint chip, looks much better, but one bottle boss is spinning, the new rivnut i put in is now turning in the frame

my gold CK headset is not the tightest of fits in the frame, but it's been in a few frames now! doubt it's the head tube, as it's pretty burly, but mentioning it anyway....

all that said, it's still a nice wee frame, sure someone here could build it into something nice, even strip the paint and have it done in a more Pace kind of colour......

it's been hanging in the shed for three years now, been built once to see how it looked, and then hung back in the shed...

here's how it looked built back in 2014:

will take a pic of bottle bolt and paint chip and update shortly......

Re:

OK, as there is now some interest in this, i have taken more pics just now so everyone knows the lie of the land!

so, the head tube..... i have in the shed six chris king headset cups, all used, red, black and gold, and i can push them in by hand to both sides of the head tube. they are not slack, loose or rattling, they are just a very easy fit. they do not fall out under their own weight, they do hold in the frame. i have taken pics to show where i used my dremel to remove the paint, which, with hindsight, i could probably have left on......

the paint chip..... it's a very unique paint job, and impossible to match with paint. i had a brainwave, and realised that beneath the rear dropouts, which are bolted on, is painted, but not seen, so i carefully cut small squares out from both sides to make a small paint chip patch! the paint squares are beneath some clear helitape, and the damage is much less obvious now! the rear drop outs cover the small squares i removed, so completely hidden from view......

finally the bottle boss...... this is spinning in the frame. disappointing as i fitted new rivnuts, but it seems i didn't squeeze it up tight enough. no idea how to fix it with the bolt in situ, prob best left alone, which is what i decided to do!

edit 22/5/16: i decided to take the dremel to the bolt head today, even though it was a ti bolt.... very pretty bright white sparks you get from ti! :D anyway, i removed most of the head, and then, at the last moment, the bolt started turning with the vibration from the dremel, so it's out! will re-squeeze the rivnut which will hopefully stop it turning in the frame, and fit nice 3DV bottle bolts instead which will match the paint nicely!

BB threads are all good, and the seat post clamp is new.

so, that's it up to date, no surprises!

pics incoming.......

Re:

i remember reading a thread somewhere on here regarding headsets, one solution was to centre-punch all around the headset cups, the small indentations then helped create a tighter fit in the head tube.

here are a couple of pics of the pewter badge

Re: custom PACE RC300 frame for sale

A smidgen of Loctite thread lock works wonders with headset cups as well.
Lovely frame and local too, must resist!!
