For Sale: 1999 Klein Attitude Race in Excellent condition

Retro Newbie
1999 Klein Attitude Race ultra light alu full bike -- £350 OBO (or trade)

Due to a house move and non-use, I feel this bike should finally go to a new home.... I want to purchase a nice folding bike for getting 'round town (brompton or similar -- lighter weight and more stylish if the pockets are deep enough)

This bike is in very good condition, hardly used and recently serviced. Yes, there are some small chips in the paint but nothing horrible. I'm going to say it's a 16" or 17" frame. The smallest they did, basically. I've got the original receipts and owners manual and all. If you have questions I shall dig them out.

Everything is exactly as sold except the seat post, the saddle and back rim.
Seat post: changed at purchase for super-lightweight one.
Saddle: changed at purchase with the split in the middle for bits to fall through sort.
Back rim: A year ago, replaced cracked original Bontrager with "Mountain Sports" one.

Here's the Bikepedia ref http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/Bike ... jMCTz-fi8A

The picture there of the black paint version is exactly what I've got. Original purchase price in excess of £1800. <ouch>

Feel free to propose a trade: for returning my original 1997 GT Lightning Titanium that got stolen from Bristol OR more realistically, for a nice pre-loved folding bike.

(By the way: If anybody out there ever *does* see a small 1997 GT Lightning titanium for sale, please let me know. More than a decade later and I'm still dreaming about how lovely it was -- for the whole month I had it before some jerk used power tools to fell the motorcycle chain and take it off the streets of Bristol.)

Re: For Sale: 1999 Klein Attitude Race in Excellent conditio

Before anyone else says it, you'll need to get a mod to move this to the post 97 section 'for sale', this is the pre 97 bit...

But whereabouts are you? And do you have any pics of the actual bike? Thanks!

Re: For Sale: 1999 Klein Attitude Race in Excellent conditio

Oh geeez sorry! My mistake, goldarnit. (Um, i'll try to find a moderator to move it...)

meantime: I don't have pictures right this minute, was going to do some after work today.

The bike currently lives in central london.

Photos.... sorry that they're not in-line. I've tried all the obvious stuff but clearly don't know what I'm doing.

I've looked again and realise I've also changed the grips (original ones melted off w/use) and the pedals which I've replaced w/shimano dual-sided -- SPD one side, platform the other (I can verify make w/receipts if you need)

Re: For Sale: 1999 Klein Attitude Race in Excellent conditio

I asked how much to box this up proper in advance of a courier and Cycle Surgery around the corner will do it for about £25.

So if you're interested in this bike (and the tech from Cycle Surgery doesn't buy it on its way into a box)... please include this cost in your offer.

I should add that about a year and a half ago I had it serviced head to toe and sunk about £200 into it. That's when the new back rim got put on.

BTW: We're in London -- presently King's Cross, soon to be Old Street.

Ta!
