WTD - White or Funky Saddle

aldernator

Retro Newbie
Yeh got a 1985 Peugeot and looking for a white or funkyish saddle for ultimately under 20quid. also any recommended parts for restoring a vintage peugeot

Cheers

Fed up with charge sppons really, want a bit different unless i make it singlespeed,
cheers for the direction and i also have a dodgy bottom bracket, whats the best way to approach this? still parts avaialbe etc etc.

Most likely there are parts available
Depends on what your after though
I believe your in the right place

As you dont see the bb (and if your not massively fussed on keeping it period) maybe you could go to a more modern sealed unit for ease and availability - although i dont think spares will be a problem

Presuming its a square taper

Ok cheers, the BB is proabably the one part on a bike i have least amount of knowledge, with a very rough rough estimate what cost am i looking to replace it? At the moment i can feel all my pedal strokes are not being fully transfered into power! annoying

Thanks

Well spares prices are subjective, have a look in the road for sale section

Otherwise sealed units are cheap enough
Even buying the tool and doing it yourself is pretty cheap

If you know the length and shell size you need

Failing that being the right size

Tool

BUT, its an old road bike, so it may have different threads to that of the most common ones. Of which i cant be sure as thats as far as my knowledge goes ;)

Thats great help Thanks, do you have any links for bottom bracket service help, because all the sites iv seen link to some bicycletutor which you you have to pay for..
