Too many hills where I live for single speed so I am going back to gears!
Chain tension device allows you to run single speed on an MTB with vertical dropouts, it bolts in place of your rear mech. The tension wheel can then be moved in/out to allow you to get a perfect chain line with your Crankset. Uses a standard Shimano pulley so easy to replace if you ever wear it out.
Also included is a 14 tooth final drive cog and a selection of spacers that will allow you to use your existing free hub. You can arrange the spacers to ensure a perfect chain line with your crankset. Lock nut is also included.
I found it works very well even when using a single ring from a standard 3x chainset, you just have to get your chain length as short as possible.
