South Korean buyer closed at US$6,750.00
It is not NOS. It has headset, cage and shifters fitted, so it is a used frame.
Imo nearly 7K is a bit absurd for this mediocre frame. I saw an Arabesque full bike advertised locally a couple weeks ago and I bet it could be had for a fraction of this.

Colnago made Arabesque´s about 2% of that how many Masters they made...

There has been rumours, that only 500 frames were made, but I have seen serials bigger than that.
There was couple months ago, very rusty Arabesque -frame on ebay and it sold around $2000

500 is not much, but it is also not rare. Of a 7K frame you would expect it is a one off or that they made a couple of it and that there is very meaningfull historical significance. A bit like with C-26 that sold for 12K about a year ago. The Arabesque gives a bit the impression it is crafted by a single artist, but that is not actually the case and 500 is a quite substantial number.
I think the ground in the price has to be sought in that Colnago enjoys a wide recognition among both very dedicated enthousiast and afficionados less deep into cycling. Possibly a Korean businessman wants to have something to talk about with his relations during a ride or in his office where the frame will be on display.
