I know what you mean - it looks too nice for that tubeset. I love the 'jnr world champ/french map' sticker - not sure if all Lemonds have that or not ?

What is wrong with Cromor? I have a lovely Casati with the same tubeset, which I love to bits. Might not be as light as the SL or SLX frames, but its stiffer. I believe there were amateur teams i Holland that preffered the Cromor over the lighter frames in the early nineties.

Nothing at all. Be nicer to be the full fat SLX though as ridden by the team, esp given it's in team colours.

Understood and agreed. I'll be honoust and admit that I bought the Cromor at the time because I couldn't afford anything more. Even though I lusted after the SLX frame.

Have to say I had a 1991 Lemond coal black Z Cromor and that rode lovely, then again I was used to a basic Peugeot Pantera before that. Never rode an SL or SLX have to say even the Calfee Lemond I own know feels only marginally lighter, not rode in anger yet though.

All Lemonds pre Trek have the map, without sounding too geeky there are actually 2 versions. One has the years after world champion and inside the map of France but after Gregs final Worlds win and TDF win they could fit all the years in so it altered to read just Jr World Champion, World Champion and Tour De France

Here is one with SLX tubing. Considering the C-Record parts not too pricey either. Fortunatly way too big for me.

Unlike the higher end tubesets, Cromor was seamed (like True Temper) and so didn't have the same cachet.
