Before anyone say, 'oh god, he's off on one again...', i'm not, honest!

Now I know that the 'click throughs' pay for the site, but does that mean you need to swamp this and the mtb eBay section with hundreds of posts?

Surely it's better to have lots and lots of clicks on things of interest rather than flushing the good posts onto page two with all the crap like 'altus a10 group', 'mystery frames', 'briko glasses' and countless other lazy posts that are easy to find, not of interest to most or are just not retro (even if they are humorous, ironic posts)

I always thought the point of this section was that people could post things of interest that others may not have seen or found and so the quality of the posts remained high but now with the massive floods of posts that you are putting up, the interesting stuff is now hidden by all your posts.

I know quality is subjective but 'raleigh Chloe 5 speed mixte' ffs.

:p

Fair enough, will go easier on the ironic Altus / Mustang posts.

People on this site are interested in a broad range of stuff so try to reflect this in what I 'out'. Although obviously try to stick to the more interesting stuff.

It's not a go at you John as I know you have to pay the bills, but the click through on an exciting thing will far out strip the single clicks on the dozens of not so. Just looking at the replies on the exciting posts, and that should indicate the interest that they provoke, the discussion they create and the clicks that pay the bills. That said Elev has come up with a class crop, especially the 18k campa

Yes, but my Maxi Car outing achieved only few views, but they deserve to be outed. They are great hubs :) Spread the word.

Moreover I tend to have a certain enthousiasm for Dutch & Japanese, hence a relatively large portion of this stuff from me. Others are free join and post their signature selection of stuff they like :)

if you don't like then don't look or click simple

Sort of missing the point in a 'haven't actually read or understood the point of the post' type way, but still you wade in with the tired roll eye quote. This was a constructive criticism and I am an active and constructive member of this forum and occasionally voice my feelings, as others are also free to do.

John and the mods have recently taken to posting loads of generic threads, I didn't think it was the best approach. That doesn't mean that my view is right or their view is right, but it does not mean that you should be so dismissive of my view in that flippant, 'if you're not with us, you're against us' type crap. Especially you who support so many liberal causes that are fundamentally about changing things for the better and freedom of expression, how do you think that gels with that fundamentalist view that you just voiced, eh?

Why not take some time and construct a cogent argument and make me want to believe your point of view that leaving things the way they are is the best way to do things for this site?

The point that I was raising is that if we post up loads of crap then the good stuff gets shunted off the front page, if the good stuff gets shunted off then there are less clicks and therefore less cash to the site.

Now why don't you respond with your argument that is based on a structured assembly of facts as you view them rather than some absolute statement that offers no resolution, compromise or understanding of my point of view.

Pete, I see your point. I think I and most others are aware of what you are saying. Thanks for your input anyway. I will go on with my blend of stuff I like and particular popular stuff that generates clickies.

When you click on links to various merchants on this site and make a purchase, this can result in this site earning a commission. Affiliate programs and affiliations include, but are not limited to, the eBay Partner Network.

Totally cool with that, I refer the learned gent back to my earlier post:

I now notice this topic really generates many clickies.

I have a nasty habit of doing that with my rant threads, must learn to be less antagonistic with my subject matter!
