Hi folks,

Is anyone here up for a bit o mtb'ing in July or early August?

Feeling the lows, after feeling the love at Mayhem a couple of days ago.

Starting at Shoreham, at 10am and going up and down the er, downs. There will be both coffee stop/s and lunch involved.

Parking is easy mate, and a straight forward trip from Surrey, just off the main A27

Could be good. Where is the car park? Bit premature as no date set yet!

Post subject:  Re:

Old Shoreham road. Lots of parking close to meet up point.

I'll put some dates out there.

21st or 28th July, or 4th or 18th August

Let's see what the consensus is

I can't do 28/6 and 21/6 is the Gates Ride which I was hoping to get to. I'm OK for the August dates though.

Not quite

It’s across the flat lands of Lincolnshire which has a zillion gates on its route

Your quite right

Mike
It’s all flat out east - Diss | Bourne is further north but equally a flat as Alconbury

4th August might be possible if I rearrange some stuff.

Is this flatlands gates ride usually a good turnout? Do you know the starting point?

A little bit of a Trek for me but would be a nice Ride and good to meet up again.

I can do July dates but would need to move some stuff around for the August dates so will see what the consensus is :P

You coming up to the Peak District again? - as you know it's not flat there...

and next Thursday at 10pm, you can sign up for Strathpuffer (be quick - solo spots go in minutes!) and then you have 6 months or so to look forward to it. a bit of a journey from your neck of the woods though.

Yes mate.

Been getting a team together for Big Dog tonight, so can't do the 11th. The weekend before I'm taking parents out for their birthday, and the weekend after, the 18th, I should do the road ride I've organized for the last few years

Shame I won’t make this. If it was more local I might be able to as my Weekend plans have just been cancelled. Got to get ready to go away on Monday though and have my traditional summer cold. Hope it goes well and the weather stays cool.

Meeting at Shoreham RedLion pub. Old Shoreham Road. Plenty of parking along it.
10am. Mainly off road.
Cafe at 11-ish. Lunch early afternoon after possibly a great descent. Still deciding if it’s too dodgy for us. There’s alternatives though

Call it a gravel bike again and I'll block you!

Tried to get a decent Strava section of the SDW on it the other day, was going well until a pinch puncture.
With a punctured spare
