And its free!

There is a catch however...

Well a few.

Bad bits:

1) You need to ride your bike for at least 10 days to end up with a GC place.
2) The 'Grand depart' looks strangely like your front door. Every day.
3) Unless you have a helpful other half, the 'team car' will probably sit on your drive a lot.

Good bits:

1) The Parcours is your own design
2) You can ride any bike you choose AND have the saddle at a wonky angle if you wish. AND run 650c wheels. etc.
3) You can cancel the stages you wish if its a bit cold, CBA, etc

Here it is:

That came out a bit weird didn't it. In "you" i meant "me" and everyone else not you as in DA-EVO. The collective you of all you's out there.

I know that ;) however I ccertainly resemble the remark so no offence taken :) However, I have now signed up so technically I have to get on my bike some days and stuff.

Probably.

Bit of a plug for Strava, just signed up and loaded my first. It compares sections of your ride with others that have travelled that same section. I'm King Of the Mountains on a Cat4 climb in Temple Newsam! (only me ridden it)

been on it for a little while, but not used it very often. Quite a lot of the local Morvélo crowd use it, i think.

sportstracklive.com for me, as i got the bluetooth HRM for my birthday last year. I just transfer my routes once i'm done to see how I compare (not many up yet though)..oh yeah, and i'm on mapmyride.com too  they're all good for different things, honest!

Will post up usernames for any that want them :?

Why not start a 'retrobike' bike club on there?

Hmmm, it seems so disarmingly simple...It'll never work!

I'll run it by the big man JV first, his product after all :) good idea though D

Right, here is my plan for 'The People's Grand Tour' (tm).

Saturday - Prologue TT (Will ride my Gitane lo pro for a bit, with Tubs on)
Sunday - MTB excursion day (Mountain Goat perhaps)
Monday - Road ride (Roberts)
Tuesday - Rest day or seafront cake race (TBC)
Weds - er..

I also hope to do:

A big hill - probably the one to the pub.
Some cobbles (if I can find some).
A grand finale, probably stopping at the Pier for doughnuts. (Its got a big wheel near it so that sort of counts).

I'll let you know how I get on ;)

Its over! Complete! If you managed 10 days or more on the bike send the results in to their website. Apparently there are prizes and stuff.

I have transcribed my feeble efforts via the 'contact info' page on the following link. The following link also shows what you need to send them.

Got mine in, very suprised at how much it drove me. When a little a doubt crept in this was the spur.

Will certainley be carrying on and joining the may one. Strava is is compelling, went out of my way to do someone else's segments.

Wont be long before I'm down in Brighton :)

Even at 6am on my way to work I can have a race with someone.

I have privated my commute so they do not clutter up.

I am looking forward to the next one and will hopefully have completed a few bike rides in the meantime.

Hopefully we can get a bit more Retrobike interest on there. I managed to forget putting my 'bike club' on there else we would probably have been the most numerous team.

Hope some more can join in for the next one.
