Senior Retro Guru
For those of you in the London and Essex areas, the Beastway series of grassroots, crosscountry mountainbike races is running again this year. 10 individual races followed by a team race finale over 11 Wednesday evenings starting 18th May.

Would be good to see some other retrobikers there. I'll be helpng organise the events, and will (probably) be riding slowly round the course on either one of my Breezers, my Ibis Mojo or my Merlin, and wearing a marshall's tabard.

http://www.beastway.com/ but it still has last year's dates on it. I'll press to get it updated ASAP.

Venue is Redbridge Cycling Centre (AKA Hogg Hill). Races start at 7:30pm each Wednesday. Course marking starts at 3pm each week, if you help mark out the course, you race for free. All help with pulling the course down post-race gratefully received (it means we can leave site in time to go to the pub).

Splendid.

I'll be the fat bloke with race number 13 (Baker's Dozen) and a Marshall's vest. I'll probably be on one of the bukes listed below.

If my number or combination of numbers equals 13 I wouldnt be racing - or ask for my number to be changed!! NEver had a good race with 13!

My surname is Baker, so I use it happily. (I took the 3rd in series experts prize with that number 2 years ago). John and Bill give me permission to fit it upside down on my bars as tradition dictates.
