Thanks for all that turned up today.

There were 8 of us that weren't frightened of a little bit of rain!!! It only showered a couple of times during the 2.5 hours we were out, not even enough to get properly wet :D

Thanks again to Mrs Jimbo for the cakes.

Should've come along Matt, it was a great ride. :D

What happened this afternoon?

Great ride, really enjoyed it, perfect conditions on the Common & good swapsies after too. Couple of little jobs to do on the Lava Dome to keep me occupied tomorrow now.
Pity Mrs Jimbo's Kilauea got a flat during her solo ride out or she could have posed in the photo's too. Would that be a first?
Looking fwd to the next one. Quantocks or Exmoor anyone?

I ditched the jacket before I went out. No rain. Was really dry trails too, its good for drainage.

Nice to see some new faces, hoping to get to most of the SW rides now.

Had an embarrissing off at about 5 miles an hour on a steep climb but that aside, was a good laugh.

And 3 of the 8 were Saracens! Happy days!

All bikes on display were very nice too. Maybe for the next I'll learn to go clipped in then I can swap over half way through.

Sorry I didn't make it!
Long story....

How far did you guys ride? Could you re-trace the whole of the Old XC course?

As it happens the Orange hadn't returned from the Paintshop in Bristol anyway...

Tim, any "spare" QR skewers in your bottomless pit of components?
Just realised I don't have any for the Orange!

Cheers

From this it doesn't look like you rode the main climb on the old XC course...
Probably for the best as it is a killer....
I would love to have had a go at it though, maybe next time!

Nah, we missed the final climb Beav, but we can always pop back up some time - a lot of the start of the old xc course is completely gone though.

Looks like you missed the old downhill bit too mate, remember the one with the jump at the bottom?
However last time I was there it had bigger rocks everywhere and the jump was more of a small mound... disappointing!

Looks like a good ride had by all down there. I would def be interested in a Bristol ride at AC.

Despite living here I haven't ridden up there since prior to the building of the trails!
