Fear not old friend for there is a solution!

I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/Haibike-sD ... en-SL-2015

Rode it round my local loop and it really does take the sting out of the horrible bits, it's really rather fun!

and they make a Fatbike version just for Neilll http://www.raleigh.co.uk/Haibike/Produc ... 8&pg=12979

Took the new e-Tractor over to ol' Chicky this afternoon to see if the place had changed much over the years since we last rode there, most of it is still recognisable and a few new tracks have appeared. The far corner is now a 'No Cycling Nature Reserve' and the fun little swoopy singletrack in the middle is a bit wrecked but other than that it's all good.

I'm happy to say I (and Mr Yamaha) 'powered' up all the climbs, even the ones that used to cause a problem in my prime!

Even bumped into another chap on a full suss e-bike.....it's the future chaps!

My purist side agrees. but if it's the difference between riding and sitting on our fat arses then I'll take it.

I think I've ridden it thrice in the last month which is more than I've managed in the last three years so I'm game!

it's been over a year since the last post here....what a bunch of slackers we are!

A friend of mine popped round on Saturday with his new purchase, serious bike envy....even Neilll would approve of this one!

Haibike Full FatSix.
