Post subject:  **Summer Meet - 10/11 July - PLANNING THREAD**

This weekend is approaching, so lets get some planning in place.

Who is in it for the weekend?

Who is in it for the day?

Who is bringing what?

I'm in it for the day, but naturally will bring/do as much as I can chaps.

We need to push this one large to the masses so need to sort a meeting place and get some times nailed down. Meet time, start time, expected finish time etc.

Original plan was rock up on Sat afternoon, BBQ , chill for evening and camp. Sunday morning we go riding, finishing just after 2 ish so people can get home if they had to travel. This doesn't seen to have been a great success though. All the info has been in the other threads for ages but not a great take up. Time to rethink the whole thing maybe?

I'd love to tip out for a ride for the day if it's do-able..

For a number of reasons I can't make plans or commit to anything until the 11th hour though.

Post subject:  Alconbury ride

Posted this on the other thread, thought I better put it on the live one...

Just found this ride...I'm in both days probably.

I'm only in Huntingdon, so I'm happy to help if needed...free that weekend!

Looking at the routes published, I can think of a few additions to them both from my rides in the area. PM me if you want.

At this late stage I think it would be best just to go for a Sunday ride. The original 2 day plan has fallen by the wayside.

Dan, find out what time the train arrives and I will pick you up. Peterborough or Huntingdon which ever is best for you. I assume you will have to change at P'bro to get to Huntingdon.

Just because someone has a special new addition to the stable

Would modern SS be too much for this ride as I don't think I have time to finish my new retro project......need a seat post :(

I might do the route tomorrow

it'll be very dry, lots of tarmac because thats how Cambs is these days but you'll get the idea when we get there.

My house is now a storage centre for the missus' business so just ignore it.

BBQ in the afternoon if anybody wants to hang around for a while.

Author:  legrandefromage [ Wed Jul 07, 2010 4:52 pm ]
Post subject:

Burgers & bangers bought, BBQ cleaned up, garden sort of cleaned up.

Be here - PE28 4EZ - for around 10am ~ 11am

Breakfast Bacon sarnies on request.

Route has lots of tarmac first then lots of off road so bring the right bike to be comfy for about 30 miles.

Pub stop on the way.

House is out of bounds for now as it looks like a storage warehouse as the missus business is in full swing.

Modern for me I'm afraid as your buying my only retro steed!

Looks like it will be the smelly seat for me.....

Wow, this is going to be more popular than the 'guess the smell on my appendage' competition last year.

Weathers cooling a bit for Sunday, expect picture postcard scenery and hoiking your bikes over styles.

BBQ in the afternoon with lashings of ginger beer....

After an intensive wrenching therapy session this morning I have something old to ride. Taken the drivetrain and bits off the broken ti frame and put them on the skinny steel frame.

Looking forward to it.

Put a pair of skinwall Pyschos on the RTS and it looks pimp 8) However, on reflection I have decided to bring the Stumpjumper as it hasnt had a proper Retrobike outing yet
