Happy Yorkshire day everyone!

1st August is the day we think of those who are less fortunate than ourselves: southerners, the french, Lancastrians. Not everyone is as blessed as we are to live at the centre of the world.
I will be taking the day off work (As the state has failed to make it a bank holiday I have had to dip into my annual leave) and will be celebrating to doing some rose based work in my garden. I have found that one of the sort of red rose bushes I inherited when I brought the house is grafted on a white dog rose rootstock and this year it got a "Sucker" of white roses. Yes! I am going to chop off the red rose stems and let the white rose grow through, genius! And then go for a bike ride on my "Wrong side of the Humber" Falcon Team Banana. In the rain.

I myself shall celebrate by proudly displaying a picture of Brian Glover by my front door, and telling random strangers "Am ah gonna lose 'em, mister 'erryot??"
