rear Derailleur 9 speed

Hi

I'm after one of these for a back and forth to work bike, so i have a low budget, ideally south wales/cardiff if not, via post

i've bought a cheap shimano hg 9 speed cassette, and got some sram 9 speed shifters, so not sure if the rear mech needs to be compatible with these.

Pontypridd. Could post it though. BUT as mentioned, the ratio thing with SRAM may be a problem :(
 
I have a SRAM ESP 4.0 with hardly any use and a lovely red jockey wheel that could be yours for £10 posted. I mean, it has hardly any use, it was on my father's town bike for one winter and probably saw more action on the workstand than one the road!
 
Ok guys I got it all completly wrong

the front shifter is SRAM and the back is shimano lx mega drive chain

so not sure what my options are now so feel free to let me know what you have
