Shimano Cantilever Link Wire

Hello All !!

Just looking for a place where I can get a couple of link wires for some early 90's shimano cantilever brakes, I have some with the leter "A" stamped on and they are too small at about 70mm and have some at about 110 mm but they snag on my rock shox when the brake is used (the bit where the brake cable goes through)

So looking to try and get hold of some at about 90mm to see if they will work

Thanks for that it should do the trick !!

I would like the old chrome type but that one should get the bike back on the road then i can keep looking

Ah, your wide profile breaks are not really designed around Shimano link wires, they where for the low profile types.

What you really should use is the

Straddle wire

and
a straddle hanger

You can then set whatever length you like.

Thanks for the help

The bike has just come out of the shed after a a few years of rest and i was not too sure what bits went where, now i see the straddle wire and hanger i think thats what it used to have on many moons ago
