Senior Retro Guru
i have a KHS frame i am building up for my wife, the budget is tightish but looking for reasonable lightish bits as below....

rear mech
crankset
seatpost (confirm diameter thursday)
wheels
rigid forks - sus adjusted 1 1/8"
righthand thumbshifter if poss but would consider anything that works!
riser handlebar

as i said - nice lightish bits would be great but i am on rather a tight budget so show me what you got!

cheers

I can do

9 speed XT Rear Mech
XT Chainset with integrated bashring
Seatpost - possibly, what size?
RH Gripshift (7 or 8 speed)
Bontrager Crowbar

i have a pair of wheels, deore lx hubs on mavic rims. they came from a gt a got off ebay, they are pretty spotless but i was gonna run a spoke key over them just to be sure. these have barely been ridden.

also i have 2 silver modern deore rear mechs in good nick, and 1 in black functional but scratched and a modern xt, again functional but scratched.

how about £50 posted for the wheels and a mech of your choice

bits

thanks for the responses!

Dave, Jonny you have PM...

cheers Mike, thanks for the offer but I'm not splashing out on disc brakes, she can make do with cantis or v-brakes like i do!

I have some wheels you can have if you collect from Central Cardiff.
They are distinctly un-bling
Ebaystuff658.jpg

These rims on Parallel (whatever) hubs and those anti-rust spokes that look like they are galvanised.
Rear hub spins OK...front needs a service.
Barely any wear to braking service.
So there you go....not very exciting but you can't argue about the price
Cheers
Carl
PS NO POSTING THESE WHEELS>>>I CAN'T BE ARSED

BIG THANKS to HarryB above for the wheels :D this build may be quicker than i anticipated!

Forgot to add that i need v-brakes + levers too..

Also keen to find a suspension adjusted rigid fork - P2 would be nice :D I was trying to keep the weight down a bit but the budget doesn't really allow so let me know what you got!

cheers

Big THANKS to Dave_H - great box of goodies arrived today and all for reasonable £s - well chuffed!

I've a set of Deore V-brakes and levers. The levers are very good condition, the bit on the arms where the noodle goes into is rusty though  £10

Also got a good condition set of Azonic PDW risers in silver, £15

Got some flat pedals going also if needed. Not brilliant condition, so £postage

A post-modern sus seatpost, 26.8mm. £postage

Have a look in my for sale thread for other bits :D

If pics are required, I'll take some later for you.
