Interesting, ive just realised that my m900 is medium cage and thats the only size they came in. Im sure i had seen a longer one on a kona.....probably old age.

Bit of a goose chase i fear.

Re:

m900 did eventually have a long cage (or super long in Shimano naming).
It lost it xtr pulleys to and went back to XT pullies. basically just all pinched of an XT mech but with xtr mounting sort of look.

Thats great. I will keep an eye out.....i thought i had seen long cage in the past, but memory plays tricks.

Its just ive got an xtr groupset i want to put on a touring bike and the max difference is a bit limiting on my medium cage at 33 teeth

Does anybody know if you can transplant say a m735 plate assembly straight onto an 900xtr body.....might save me an hour fiddling to find the answer is....no..no you cant.

Cheers

Re:

I don't think so as the mount part is different.
of course the m910 is just the same.

1993 M900 sheet.
(you can find them all all Shimano site)

Cheers. It might be the bolt needs changing with the arm. Well the m900 needs a good clean and service....so i might " go in" .

Will report back.
