I also have NOS Deore XT holders with ceramic pads, but they ain't cheap!

Ceramic rim, magura brakes...in the dry :shock: thats going to stop alright
I'd xt v's on ceramics and was blown away how good it was coming from canti's. Look forward to hearing a report on how those perform
Going to sound great in the wet with a bit of mud on them. You've ear protectors ?

Well, modern XT V-brakes + ceramic rims = almost the same stopping power as 2018 Deore hydraulic disc brakes, in a back to back test on long, steep, downhill set of gravel switchbacks. Discs have had more of initial bite and much better modulation though. Also, they didn't leave a trail of odor behind me.
Anyway, I'm not necessarily going to be using them in anger (the Maguras, that is) but I need the pads to be able to use ceramic wheels with them at all (standard pads don't stop and make me sound like a warning from an incoming locomotive).
