27.0 seat post for a Baby Zaskar - Now Sorted (I think!)

Hi there,

Having horribly mis-measured the ID of the seat tube on The Boy's baby Zaskar, I now have a slightly useless 26.4mm seat post.

So, I'm looking for a 27.0 seat post to fit.

Ideally in black with no layback. Well priced Syncros, ControlTech or Kore would be ideal, but frankly at this stage I'll consider anything. Even shimming via beer can from 26.4 to 27.0!

Thanks :p

Re:

Have a black one wedged in a 96 zaskar, right size? Nothing fancy mind, more modern I think, selcof iirc. Have several now I think about it but nothing shiny and period, a few newer ones in good nick though. Black tioga springs to mind. Any interest?

Hi

I'm still having an ori seatpost from my Endorphin, which I'm not using
It's quite lightweight non branded post, first equipment for this quality bike

If that's any solution for You please let me know

Re:

Word of caution, the seatpost I was thinking of in my 96 is 27.2. Right or wrong it fits. You sure you want 27.0?

If so... left to right.... Two short ones, cut so can't read but measure 27 with manual calipers. Either for £3 posted (basically free with post ~£3)

Shorter silver, slight lay back. Ritchey I think. Scratches from insertion etc. £5 posted

Longer silver, straight, scratches from insertion etc £8 posted ( this one came out of '97/98 zaskar so as above, may or may not be the correct size)

Full length black tioga, very tidy but scuffs from insertion. £15 posted

Sorry, only realised photo was cack once I got back home!
Saddles not included but can be ;-)

Cheers

Hey Marcin,

Nice bike -- always liked those Scotts. Clever (for the time) sort of rear suspension IIRC.

Anyway, I'm really after a zero layback post as the boy is still a little small for a 24" wheel bike. Thanks for the offer though.

Hi Rick,

That Tioga looks spot on. I've now been explaining to The Boy who John Tomac was!

You have a PM incoming...

Re: 27.0 seat post for a Baby Zaskar

Hi everyone.

Thanks for all the offers of help. I think I'm sorted now having bought Rick's Tioga post (subject to Hermes not losing it -- not a given!).

Cheers,
WR
