I think they are 7 + a hidden. They're just like XT but well more steel, no alu, plenty of plastic and again less alu.
They're in a box I was just given so would actually need to check if they
a) worked
b) did actually do 8 positions.

They are highly sort after though (just ask drystonepaul) and are even fought for as a National RetroRide prize

Just spent ages looking through my pm for this. Figured out why I couldn't find it.
Still found a few PM's I hadn't noticed (phones are terrible for ignoring PM's) :oops:

Anyway.
Shifter been cleaned up a bit and works fine through all shifts. Seems to have an 8th click.
Rear shifter looks a bit different but work as well (in fact there are two of them)
Do you still want them or have you found something a bit classier and better ;)

I'm not a thimbie man, personally think they are terrible things, but some seem to like them.
