Hello there, if anyone has copies of any of the aforementioned Freewheel magazines, please let me know.

If you do find any...I'd be interested in scanning them sometime for the archive and the general good. :)

All the best,

All the best,

Thank you, I was planning on doing the same whilst I had the time!

Whilst I’ve got you, I’ve heard around these parts that you’re the man to talk to re possibly repairing my recently purchased Nishiki Alien....

I’m not sure if it’s possible but....

Weirdly, I have my own Alien ACX that needs this (and the headtube) doing.
Haven't got around to it yet:

Yes, I've welded or replaced many a head tube (and other tubes) on various aluminium frames. Mostly Manitous, but also Pace, Saracen, Marin, Sintesi, Mongoose, Koa and one Nishiki...basically anything 7005 can be fairly easily repaired.

Here, the whole top section of the seat tube needs replacing. I'd remove the old tube back to the original top tube mitre, leaving the seatstay mount untouched. Then splice in a new seat tube section above the chainstay mounting point, with an internal sleeve, leaving enough length inside for a long seatpost, then finish flush with the original surface.

And ream and finish the headtube to spec if it hasn't cracked already :-(

All the best,

All the best,

Thank you, would you consider doing mine at the same time?! The headtube is also cracked unfortunately. I'm in no rush for it at all.

Absolutely...I had an enquiry for an Alien headtube only yesterday from someone else on here, too...
Maybe do all 3 together?
