Clubbytrails 2019 - Strade Be-Manky : Aftermath

Re:

Just back from a long day in the saddle exploring the finest gravel riding that Angus has to offer, 5 riders, 40+ miles, 1 puncture, and a whole lot of sunshine :D

Re: Clubbytrails 2019 - Strada Be-Manky : Aftermath

T'was a glorious day out in Angus. Trails, chats and chips, what more could you ask for?
Well in Epicyclo's case, an appropriately sized inner tube. But more on that when the other upload their photos.
After Epicyclo's disappointing inflation and riding through Glamis eighty times in search of food, we had to cut the ride short, but still managed 43.5 miles

A big thanks to our Aussie contingent for making the long drive South. As I'm typing this, Jamie will be less than half way home and has work in the morning.
Even the lesser spotted Velo finally managed to make an appearance at a Clubbytrails ride.
No sight or sound from our shiny headed friend from Fife though.

Only one photo from me and none of them are actually looking at the camera but Velo does look rather relaxed lounging on the step!

Re:

Nice ride lads! Looks great there!

Be careful of those Canyons. A local racer broke his cx version in 3 places! A warranty replacement was on it's way last time I heard. Also didn't do a cetain Mr Van Der Poel any favours in Flanders either!

BTW, what tyres are on it?

Schwalbe G One Bite 40c.
Really good in anything except mud, been very impressed.

Re:

Cheers Clubby! ;)

They also make narrower cx tyres, should you wish to take the plunge ;)

Today's job.

Check all the tubes in my shed and make sure they are what it says on the box.

Oh the humiliation, the angst... :)

Re:

Thanks again Clubby for putting on such a great and varied ride through a really lovely area. Thanks also for looking after us with bacon rolls, coffee and glorious sunshine.
Will put some photos up tonight when I get in.
Long drive home.
Brian and I stopped at Perth for a coffee and burger for dinner before stopping briefly in a lay-by near Aviemore to help a guy get his Royal Enfield going and then following to Aviemore turnoff to make sure he was ok.
I dropped Brian off and hit the road and made it home a couple of minutes after 1am.
Long day considering we left Brian’s at 5.30 the morning before. Well worth it though as a great ride and got a chance to see some of Clubbies area as well as catch up with everyone. Those that weren’t there missed a good one.
Cheers guys
Jamie
