If you were planning a (mainly) off road coast > coast across Scotland where would you start and finish?

Kyle of Lochalsh > Aberdeen?
Mallaig > Stonehaven?
Gairloch > Peterhead?

Your thoughts gentlemen and you as well Keith

Re:

I'd do shortest route possible as done by your fellow MacRetro from Ardgay to Ullapool or vice versa.
If you insist on doing it the long way then finishing in Aberdeen or Stonehaven on a main train route with easy access to the south would seem sensible.

Re:

Sorry just noticed this - it has to be westernmost to easternmost - which is Ardnamurchan to a wee place near Peterhead I think, who's name escapes me.

Looked at this a few years back but arse wouldn't engage gear :?

Re:

Keith Inch is the wee place I meant.

Also- apparently the Skye Bridge now makes Skye officially part of the mainland (not sure I agree with that) in which case Neist Point would be the most westerly bit :xmas-cool:

Think I'd stick with Ardnamurchan and leave Skye for a trip of its own :D

That's an improvement, won't have to venture into the barbarian south.

Although some of those Eastcoasters come close... :)

Careful now....Mr P is an Eastcoaster now and last time I looked, Dingwall was on the east coast too.
