guys

I always fancied doing some of the longer trails around Glencoe / Kinlochleven etc so thought i would post up to guage interest.

We could shoot for 3rd weekend in September - avoids conflict with the road ride in Aug and Peak district national on 2nd weekend of September.

Probably best as a 2 day stay as the ride is approx 7-8 hours with camping in the Red squirrell campsite with beers in the Clachaig Inn in the middle of glenoe.

did some research and found some quotes etc:
"Best natural ride around the area is Devil's Staircase, Blackwater Dam,, Ciaran path Kinlochleven, Devil's Staircase loop. Some WHW content but well worth it"

anybody else fancy it (from reading its a tough but rewarding trail) and not rigid friendly!

Re: Glencoe Camp and ride out.

edited to the 3rd week in spetember only as just saw Mr P's post re the georgetown cup roadie/TT.

Re: Glencoe Camp and ride out.

manys a great night camping in the red squirrel (and glen etive), it's a good campsite one of few that allows fires, clachaig was always a rain back up plan but it never came to that  in the numerous times I've stayed. I rode from bridge of orchy over the staircase to kinlochleven and back manys a year ago all good fun. definite interest from me

The Georgetown Cup thread may not have any bearing on this as it doesn't appear to be going ahead this year. The link is to the 2012 event.

Re: Glencoe Camp and ride out.

interest noted although my local trip is in September so I might not be able to do both - great glen again

Re: Glencoe Camp and ride out.

Interested in this however will need to do some serious grovelling to get a weekend pass.

And it conflicts with the Lake District road ride which I was also interested in and I believe Velo is wanting to do.

"September though Bit far away, Some here dont even buy green bananas"

PMSL :)

To be fair Dyna I think they are waiting till then just to make sure spring has arrived.
