he was chatting to some other biker so it was just a pic, I was quite star struck, waxed lyrical to cam on why we should look up to people who achieve rather than folk that just get noticed but I could tell it was in one ear out the other. The real reason we did it so quickly was I told him if we got their early enough, we could visit his fav. retrobiker and have another go at his old forks.
Was a fantastic day, UltraMiniKen did brilliantly, I almost cried when he finished the big climb at the 20 mile mark, 1.5 mile climb with a short rest in the middle and not as much as a dab down on the other parts.
He did the 25 miles in under 3 hours moving time, averaging just over 8mph, not bad for a seven year old.
I've done 110 sportive route along with gmac. Was happy with my ride and effort. About 6h, 18 miles average speed with some serious uphills and head wind, not too bad.
