its heading for that time of year again
lights i mean

so anyone up for a home built bike light build competition ?

then a sharing of knowledge to the macretro masses ?

Top idea :D I've never got past the torch on the bars level but have always wanted to build a set. Just got a new torch as I needed a charger  Currently have around 3400 lumens in 5 torches at the moment, ones getting helmet mounted. You any ideas? I'd love to see a mikee retro inspired housing. Have you looked at the singletrack guys lights? Or had a look round candlepower forums?

yeah raked around those places in the past
it was kinda an something we did at work a few times
to be honest the whole luxeon /cutter stuff stopped the whole thing
however i'm getting the bug again so maybee retro fitting some
of these modern doohickies into the old casings is the way to go
i will dig out some of my old lights (self made) and post pics up

brings back memories of the smell of melting plastic on a hillside
in the dark ,in the rain

Be good if an idiots guide to homebuilt lights was put up for us of limited technical skill so we could have a go too ;)

Something like this? not mine I hasten to add :)

Any non MacRetro lights must have a Scottish theme! Eg. Irn-bru can light housing, Buckfast bottle glass lens, all wiring deep-fried in batter, etc.

just finnished my new front light       just need to tape or tie wrap it to the bars........
