Another plus we could leave a stash at the cars of spares, clothing, food, drink thus
not carrying so much.

I think this one came about because of the short distance. There are a quite a few if you look about, up to 300 miles.

What Ive been thinking about was The Karrimor CTC Challenge (walking)
approx 180 miles over 12-14 days.
