Wee weekend in the lakes for me to do a bit of walking and generally chill out. Was out for about 4 1\2 hours today climbing a few fells near wasdale; Middle fell, seattallan and buck barrow which was a good workout and feeling it in my legs now!
Took loads of pics but here's one from middle fell looking over towards scafell pike ( which I'll climb one of these days!).
Looked a good day for it Col

Re:

Yeah was perfect weather, sunny with a nice Cooling breeze (a combination which has turned the top of my head bright red, guess I should've reapplied that sunscreen at some point   ).

Looks lovely Col. What a view :)

It's one of my favourite spots in the lakes, used to go there and climb a fell after work quite often when I was down here.
Just chilling out watching the tour today then probably another walk tomorrow at Ennerdale before heading home.
Here's a couple more pics from yesterday until then.

Very nice mate. Weather looks great as well.
It's been p'ing down all yesterday afternoon and last night and this morning trying to get some grass mowed but did stop to watch the start of the tour and ended up watching the XC race from Switzerland and watched Annie Hall win the womens race. Brilliant! First British Womens XC race winner in 20 years. Great last couple of laps.
Back to finish the mowing then heading out later on the Mercian for a few miles.

Not too much going on but this afternoon was really nice so after getting a few chores out the way and watching the Tour and XC racing I headed out the Mercian for a few miles. Nothing fancy just cruising the back roads enjoying a very pleasant evening.
Hope you all had a good weekend as well.

Better day of weather, so headed up the Ballater to tick off a route that's been on my radar for a while. Started off with a 45 minute climb, followed by a traverse along the plateau. Climbing up I could see something on the horizon. Turned out to be a small sculpture of a shepherd. Found a few others sling the route. Need to do some searching to find out what they were about.

The hilltop was still a bit boggy in places, but finally reached the end of the plateau and the start of a Heartbreak Ridge. Missed the start as I followed the tempting looking obvious track. Realised my mistake as the track disappeared into nothing. Consulted the gps on maximum zoom and managed to humph through the heather back onto the proper track. Thank god I did as it was amazing. A mix of narrow moorland singletrack and huge lumps of granite slab. Could play with different lines on the granite slabs and the grip levels were huge. A bit difficult to see the route through but some kind souls had built mini cairns to mark the way down. Was all very rideable apart from one steep corner. Would maybe ride if next time, but given that I was on my own and I hadn't told Sharron where I was heading, I thought better of it today. Unfortunately the photos of the slabs didn't show the scale but here's a few of the views

Great looking views Clubby. Looks like a better day for it than what we had yesterday. Though to be fair when we stopped at Perth for something to eat on the way home it was sunny and 21 degree.
Maybe we should have a run down Clubbies neck of the woods guys?

Having spent three days of glorious Oban sun stripping, cleaning and recoating decking, decided to take the Sex One and Freddie up Loch Creran. It rained :xmas-big-grin:

Must get out more!
