Easy this one. My first proper mtb was a Marin in '91 and started racing on a Pine Mountain in '92, so tey hold a place in my heart just for that.
Not so keen on the newer ones but I bought a 2004 Rift Zone for my 11yr old to start racing on.

Decent quality functional bits of kit - it was an Eldridge Grade that inspired me to take it all a bit more seriously. But cool? I think not...

Some of the bikes pictured here would be lovely with the decals removed...

In fact I normally hear Marin mentioned along with phrases like, "I bought it for the parts"

Marin is very uncool

I was wondering when this one would come up  No prizes for guessing which way I voted ;-)

Love em or hate them - a lot of old / steel / retro ones are still going strong :) Not sure if that makes them cool though, perhaps if they were a bit more brittle ...

WD :)

I may off point here, but exactly when was mountain biking cool?

Cool, probably not, but fantastic bikes, yes!
