I've tried to build it and use it like I would have done had I owned it from back in the day (without breaking it like I broke all I owned).
No XTR because XT is all you need - when you break things as often as I do/did XT is not incredibly painful - I still use this ethos.
The rest is in my opinion some of the best fitting, best functioning, and most reliable of riding kit available through the life of the bike - with a nice twist of colour
The stem and bars have been with me since 1995 and seatpost matches - nice
I've avoided NOS because I use the bike, and not in a gentle way
I've already broken two Pace forks on it in the two years I've been riding it
PS - I like the look of Breezers but when I borrowed one BITD I ended up sticking to the sheets for weeks with terrible gravel rash.
