Welcome to RBotM September 2019 - Open Month

Yes Open month this month so open to all. Time for everyone to dig out those photos and get your entries in!
That's all it takes, 2 photos and a brief description with a link to further information so people can see more and get more details.
Usual rules apply, 1 entry per person, entries open until the end of the month and then a five day poll will decide the winner. Full rules can be found in the WIKI section of the site.

So now's the chance to share what you've been riding, projects you've put together and are out and about enjoying. basically, all the lovely bikes everyone has been posting about elsewhere on the site, just drop a couple of photos here and a few words. It only takes a minute :)

Those rims on the Record look mint, like it’s never been ridden! Absolutely stunning bike sooooo wanted one when I was 16... eventually got a really scrappy unloved one in ‘89 that looked like it had been ridden to hell & back....

Yes the rims are completely unmarked and I am sure it was only ridden a few times before being stored in the garage and covered with old carpets.

Re:

This is my favourite retromod Rourke.
Finished in cream and pearl red with an early 11 speed Campag groupset and Ritchey classic cockpit. The Brooks Swallow is the red one from the 2012 Union Jack series. The wheels are Royce hubs with Velo Orange classic look rims. It rides superbly.

Re:

Just thought I would counter all those lovely, beautifully crafted bikes in this months RBotM, with some age, flaky paint, and a bit of rust. I have just completed a clean, strip down, and regrease on this circa 1912 Continental 'Vélos sportifs', I don't know the model, so sports bike in french looked good. A bit of history, Continental Cycles were built in Angers, in the Loire valley from about 1900, through to the early 60's, they were taken over after World War 1 by a larger Group. It does ride okay ( flexible back required ), single freewheel, and has new 700A tyres ( 642 x 37 ), but currently you need to plan your braking, it has an original Bowden brake on the front, which is next to useless. Hope you like, Terry
