Seven years later, maybe I'll give this another shot at BOTM glory.

Ameybrook's 1994 Kona Lava Dome. This thing is everything Retrobike is about. Owned from new, lovingly restored with bling I couldn't afford as a kid. Ridden and raced since. Even featured in Retrobike member profile #2.

Oh sod! I put my Cinder Cone up last month- i should have held off till this one :(

Wow- Amybrook's Kona is lovely! Green and Purple looks ace.
And Slow6's 1996 Ground Control.

My vote will go on one of these two.

Rob Atkin's 1994 Kona Kilauea

This bike was bought by me in 1994, went missing a year later and after a long 18 year gap was reunited with me.

Full build story here: viewtopic.php?t=237961

Stripped and repainted in metallic silver all over, with new decals and a NOS tubing sticker (that wasn't easy to find!).

All the components I got back with the frame set were reused, with some NOS stuff to treat it to as it had been away from me for so long.

I can't believe I got this bike back. I'll never sell it, it cost me a fortune to re-build (well a fortune to me anyway) and I'll keep it forever now. I'm also not locking it up anywhere away from me.... ;-)

I've already ridden it and jumped it too!! Sweet riding, just perfect. :-) :D :D :D :D :D
