The Elgin and Gary Turners GT were the two for me with the Elgin getting the vote.
I'm amazed at how people can take something like the Elgin, which looked like it was pulled out of a canal, or the GT, which looked like the remnants of a house-fire, and can turn them into show-stoppers.
I think the Koski might get the win but for me it doesn't have the depth of skill that the other two represent.

I don't get it I'm afraid. For me:
Restoration≠Repaint (or at least Restoration>Repaint)
and for sure Repaint≠Restoration

I think the fact that you got 6 votes with a Scott is a testament to the quality of the work you did. Like you said, Scotts just don't get much love. Pulling 6 votes away from a bike that is in a museum should be pretty gratifying. I think you did an excellent job.

Good point!!

We have a saying in the Netherlands: Is the glass half full or half empty.....?

Thanks! :P

You just made my day! More karma on the way!!

Hey I'm chuffed I got 1 vote! so 6 is very good. As you say Scotts don't seem to get much attention on here! Nice bike, looked very well done, I really liked the toe clips, that takes me back.... :D

Thanks Hollister and thanks to everyone else who voted. I'm glad others appreciate the time, effort and history behind the bike and now that it's kicked out of SFO I hope to post some trail shots in the other thread.

FWIW(& not much now as I MISSED the vote  & who cares what i think anyway! :) ) I was stuck between the Zinn, Trailmaster and the Elgin.

The Trailmaster takes it though...That frame looks so 8) 'before and after' .

Lots to learn from the build threads on this months bikes.

Thank you all for all the hard work and also for sharing.

Saul

Maxipedia's '1993 Gitane that turned into a 1997 Wheeler' I'm sorry, but I don't understand. Did he sell the old bike and with it buy a totally different bike?

I don't want to appear sarcastic here. I've got to be missing something.
