1991 1st Year GT Cyclone...Just finished today.

First off I want to thank Mike for making this build-up possible. Most of you know that GT's are my gig so I was naturally excited when this one became available, especially one in such good condition ....new. I didn't do any shopping to build this one up. None. Everything you see on it was in the bins or hanging around. I debated heavily going with M900 XTR but it is a 1991 frame so I stuck with XT 7 speed. Many of the parts are NOS items that I picked up for future builds. I'll post some additional pics in the appropriate thread since there's a limit in this one. Here's the spec, Enjoy

Frame: 1991 18" GT Cyclone frame. Fillet Brazed True Temper AVR Tubing 73mm BB, 1-1/8" headtube, U-brake in the rear

Fork: NOS GT 3D Chromoly unicrown DOM 03/1991
Headset: Chris King NoThreadSet Silver
Cable Hanger: Tioga threadless 1.5cm Drop silver
Stem: NOS Tioga Threadless with internal clamping device polished
Handlebar: NOS GT Aluminum 560mm
Grips: NOS GT/A'ME Anatomical vulcathane rubber black
Brake Lever: NOS Ritchey Logic Black/Silver
Front Brake: Ritchey Logic Cantilever silver
Rear Brake: NOS GT Deore XT w/U-II flexguard
Shifters: Shimano Deore XT 7-spd Top Mount
Front Derailleur: NOS Shimano Deore XT
Rear Derailleur: Shimano Deroe XT RD-M735
Bottom Bracket: GT Titanium with alloy cups 73x113mm
Crank: GT Low profile CNC w/46/36/24 Shimano SG-X rings
Cassette: Shimano Deore XT CS-HG90 12-28t
Seat Clamp: GT machined alloy with alloy QR
Seat Post: Ritchey Nitto Force Directional 26.8 (was black)
Saddle: NOS GT regal type
Rims: Araya RM-400 Pro 7000 T6 32 hole
Hubs: Frt/Rear Shimano Deore XT HB-M730/FH-M735
Skewers: GT Titanium w/alloy QR
Spokes: DT 14/15 DB Stainless Steel
Tires: Ritchey MegaByte ZMax K's 2.1 front, 1.9 rear
Pedals: NOS Shimano Deore XT PD-M737

enjoy...I know I will.

They were production bikes, and they were made in 95. Bought mine new as a frame from one of the local RM dealers in Toronto. They switched to Al front triangle in 96. I'm not sure how many were made (they were all made in house in Vancouver), but mine was SN 0025, so there were at least twenty five.
