Many Dawes models during the late 1970s through early 1980s had Supertube construction.

There's no mention of a 'Lightning' in any of the 70's and early 80's catalogues (about 4) that I've just had a flick through.

if the decals and headbadge havent been changed, that could be as late as 1986

the Weinmann brakes will have a date stamp behind them.

the lightening was around in the 70's and 80's. I remember a kid in the late 70's having a purple one.
the headbadge and transfer font would suggest early 80's onwards (not sure how much onwards - i sorta lost interest when I started buying colnagos)
