Recommissioned: British Eagle Touristique

I’ve just completed building this old beauty up from a f&f purchased on a whim. The attached photo is from the shakedown run rather than necessarily the finished item. I’ve lots of tweaks to make.

Re:

I wanted to add that if anybody could help with dating it or knows of decal availability I’d be interested. I have not seen another with this marking but then again I have not seen many of them at all.

Re:

That's a sturdy, good looking machine. As for decals: check out https://h-lloyd-cycles.myshopify.com/ . He's listing a complete set for 1980s British Eagle bikes. It may or may not be correct for yours.

Even if not, he (Steve) is a whizz at copying and producing duplicates of what you have. He has done several for me and they've always been terrific. He's a top man, top work!

Thank you, that website doesn’t show my exact decals. I may contact them if I decide to go further with the restoration. Thank you again that’s a huge help.

The bike looks excellent- love the colour and dimensions of the frame.

There's an interesting review (and info) here - the writer says they are appreciated by those who know their touring bikes. http://www.thevelocollective.com/britis ... ic-or-not/

That’s superb, it confirms the existence of decals like mine but goes further with kind comments. Mine is updated with an Ultegra & 105 mix 3x10 groupset, though still with Deore LX Cantis.

Re:

Adding some recent photos. About 3000km done on this now and no issues to report.

Re:

Adding a more recent photo, now with matching rims and a bunch of other tweaks made.

Plenty more to but it has been superb.

Re:

Is the seatpin bent, or is that it's design to achieve lay back? The straight seatpin looks much better
