Non original parts, non original colour, non original fork, but this is HK276. This is Hennie Kuiper's 1976 frame

Ridden in TI-Raleigh's 1st ever Tour de France and almost certainly the bike that Hennie rode (as World Champion) to TI-Raleigh's first ever TDF stage win (Stage 4)

What are your plans for such a prestigious frame?

And how the hell did you get it?

Hennie didn't want it. Raleigh weren't bothered, so the owner offered it to me :)

When I find a suitable fork, it's got to be repainted back to TI colours with the addition of Hennie's World Champion bands on the seat tube.

Keep us posted. Another piece of history you’ve secured there.

What is it about 58/60?

This is how it looks at the moment...

And here is the story from the step son of the man who was given it by Raleigh...

"The story behind the bike was that my stepfather who was a manager at Raleigh did some work for the race team and when the team came back from winning “The Tour” they gave him the winning bike. He said a race bike was no good to him so they took all the good bits of it and fitted standard stuff on it (shame). I don’t know if any of this is true. After my stepfather passed away the bike sat in mum’s garage for years until she decided to throw it away. I stopped mum from doing this and she said “well you take it then”.

Another piece of history rescued :). What lugs are they? Modified Capella?

Bit more mundane but SBDU 3612 landed at home today. Wearing the original warpaint too I think....

Yes, modified Capella lugs. Trimmed, slight reshape and a few extra holes.

SB3612 - nice original TI.
