A few months ago I was looking to purchase a carbon frame as all of my current bikes were steel.
When I started my search I really wanted a Trek 5500 in one of the USPS colour schemes but could not locate one in my size or decent condition.

I then found an immaculate Look KG231.

Unfortunately the seller used the thinnest cardboard known to science to protect the frame and very little bubble wrap.
This resulted in some minor paint damage.

I decided to build the frame as per the 2000 catalogue with DA 7700 and Heliums
(Team KG281)

For some reason I wanted the challenge of trying to source the exact parts as the catalogue :D

I like how there is a carbon window in the top tube, so that you can see the weave.
They are also windows on the rear chain stays but the weave visibility through them is very poor.

I then bought some Zefal cages.
Very difficult to see from the available catalogue pictures the make and model of the cages but these zefal ones look identical.
