As most of these things, it started with a message, 3rd in line and lacking hope....... Then a PM........ Then a PayPal payment......... Then a knock on the door and a box.......

Many many thanks to MatBH5 for the fantastic communication, fast postage, and superb packing.

So arrived a wonderful Mercian King of Mercia, in a gorgeous Orange with black and white lug lining, alas it had a few rough edges, so out came the paint.......

Although I got some very nice parts along with the frame, I am still waiting for a few parts to complete the build.

Updates when they arrive

Re:

Today has proven to me that sometimes a sucker does get a break, and the value of never throwing anything out....

I needed an ISO bottom bracket for the build, so looking around on eBay I made the choice of a Stronglight 651 Professional. I found one for £25 + post or best offer, so I offered £20....... Which was accepted :D .

It arrived yesterday, and almost straight away I noticed something was missing....... The right hand alloy cup  . I checked the advert and much to my chagrin it was obvious from the pictures it was not there  . So a slight panic set in ' insert headless chicken emoji'. Spares box after spares box were inspected and rejected........... Until finally I found a cup off of a mystery Ti bottom bracket I had snapped ages ago, it had a sh@&&ed bearing in it, so fingers crossed I tried it in the frame.......... Success it was a right hand cup   :D, so I knocked out the old bearing and slipped it on the Stronglight and it fitted beautifully ' Insert Music 'Hallelujah chorus' Handel'.

Disaster averted. Pics later....

Looking very nice mate. I am looking forward to seeing this built up and back on the road.
I am partial to a KOM :)
Enjoy and keep us updated.

Update time:

Been busy with Airshows and looking for work so this had fallen behind a bit. Had a final push today and got it finished a few teaser pics first then the end result will probably disappoint some. P.S. yes I know the pedals aren't on properly and the front mech needs adjusting
