Recently a friend of mine had moved home and found that the garage hadn’t been quite emptied as had been promised. So, being a good buddy, I helped him have a bit of a sort out (bribed by beer), how glad am I that I did?  Sitting in a box all covered in old sawdust and cobwebs was a tidy if very filthy Sella Italia Anotomica…. Catalogue correct for my 1984 Majestic!  So on with the restoration…. First job, dry wrap some tissue around the rusty rails; Attachment:

Then soak this tissue with Evapo-rust and squeeze it tight to remove any air, this is to get the fluid in close contact with the chrome (submerging the whole seat is not a great idea if you want to keep the print) Attachment:

Wrap the whole thing in food cellophane/cling film and leave it for 24hrs Attachment:

Hey presto, super shiny. Just needed a wash and a night on the radiator and then tomorrow I’ll apply some car wax/polish on the old chrome Attachment:

Some 303 Aerospace Protectant restored the top surface vinyl and will help protect it from UV Attachment:
