SBDU SB6560 1984 531c Services des Courses

I've had this frame for about 18 months now but don't know if I've ever shown it here. I bought it knowing that it had some damage, the gear lever bosses had been hacked off... and at some point, someone had done a bad job of fitting transfers. However, there is always hope with steel!



As it is a Services des Courses model, it is Cinelli throughout... lugs, BB and CC fork crown.




So taking advantage of the Easter weekend break and using the skills gained from the awesome Dave Yates frame building classes, I decided to tackle replacing the lever bosses.





The seller actually included a new set of lever bosses with the frame...

and today I managed to fit them...






A few inches of paint and new transfers and it will be ready

Where did you get the tube blocks from? I could do with a set.

Thank you. These blocks are made of Maple by a guy in the US. I saw them on the Facebook page called "Frame Building Tools and Supplies" - there are lots of aluminium blocks available to do the same but I like these wooden blocks, I can imagine them lasting a good few years! He supplies a full set for Imperial size tubes and stays plus a couple of over size options - there are 6 pairs of blocks in the set.

I'm greatly impressed. Top work!

Thanks, I have an understanding wife who donated a spare bedroom, so the workshop comes with adjacent toilet facilities, utilities including power and heat plus free wifi
