Hi,
I have owned this bike since new. It was retired by me earlier this year when I believed it was broken as it had a horrible shimmy when riding over certain road surfaces.
I subsequently bought a Merckx frame and transferred all the bits over.
Well after a while I kept looking at it. Looking to see any damage, it was still straight, no paint was broken.
So I started to research odd wobbles on bikes, and doing some experiments.
I rotated the head-set cups 90 degrees, to see if the headset was centering, I built new wheels for it (as the old ones were on the Merckx) and changed the stem length.
Built up with Campagnolo Athena and some other nice bits such as the Cinelli Pinnochio stem.
So far it rides okay, no discernible oddity. I wouldn't mind of it did as it is pretty enough to just hang on the wall.
